The Miami Dolphins’ season may be over, but players are still hard at work, helping a South Florida veteran renovate her home.

The Dolphins teamed up with Rebuilding Together Broward to renovate the home of Leslye Lea, a Navy veteran. Rooms To Go stepped in, as well, and donated new furniture.

For the first time in her life, Ashley Lea, 16, will have a room of her own. Lea no longer has to sleep on the futon in the living room.

Before the remodeling project began in November, Lea’s home was in bad shape. The leaks in the ceiling were so bad that only one of the three bedrooms was livable, and that room was shared by Lea’s mother and her 79-year-old grandmother, who suffers from colon cancer.

Lea said she barely recognizes her house, and she couldn’t be happier to have a room of her own.
